Marzipan, made from sweetened almond paste, and often covered in chocolate, dates back to ancient Greece and second century Spain. Originally a sweet reserved for Royalty and the wealthy, marzipan journeyed along traditional trading routes, spreading through Europe, the middle east and China. Today it is eaten worldwide, and is popular for celebrations and as a Christmas confection.
Operating since 1806, Niederegger marzipan is made with maximum almond content, as well as a ‘secret ingredient’ that makes it unique in flavour and texture.
